About this Site
This web site is a resource designed for the
benefit first and foremost of current students in courses taught by
Daniel G. Van Slyke, S.T.L., Ph.D. Past students, colleagues, and visitors are also welcome to explore this
site.
Current Students
In order to locate your course, click the "courses"
link on the course banner above. Once on the courses page, find the
institution in which you are enrolled, and click its link. That will
take you to a page listing courses taught through that institution. Each
linked course title offers at least an interactive syllabus for the
course, containing links to works that are required or recommended
readings.
Colleagues and
Visitors
You are most welcome to explore this site
for whatever benefit you may derive from it. If you have any suggestions
or comments, Dr. Van Slyke will be pleased to receive them. The best
means for submitting them is via e-mail, following the link provided on
the "contact" page.
Motto and Image
The motto of this site, clamor meus ad te
veniat, means "let my cry come unto thee." It reminds us that all of
our efforts, through the grace of God and perseverance in prayer and
Christian life, are directed towards the final end of union with the
Triune God. The image on the right of the course banner represents a
mosaic in the mausoleum of Galla Placidia in Ravenna, which dates to
a.d. 430, depicting Jesus
as the youthful and eternal Good Shepherd. This image aids us in keeping
Christ at the center of our studies. |
